I don't encounter the same problem for the new facebook application version 3.0. It works perfectly fine except that it will not work if you dont have WIFI signal, the same with the new Twitter Application version 3.0.

I was thinking it should work with or without WIFI as long as you have BIS just like the other 3rd party application such as Ubersocial

I am not sure if it was programmed to work with WIFI only. Any idea?

You can try deleting the application and install it again. Some people tried and it works

We had same error... when we got our phones.... all we did was change our browser configuration to "hot spot"

I am also facing the same problem as above. i have blackberry 9300, v-5 & the facebook app shows that there is sm problem with the data plan. also let me know about BIS as my mobile is showing BIS-not connected.
