How many battery pulls do you do per day? And for what reason?

I am averaging with the bluetooth issue, about 5-6 daily.

Without Bluetooth, about 2-3.

Please give us an idea of how namy are having to reboot the phones...I would like to compile some statistics and data.

Thanks!

Per day!!?? May be once in a week/15 days!

Its suggested that you have a battery pull only when something unsual is happening with your device.

I know that.

I was trying to determine if this is a defective Storm and that is the major reason or if everyone else is pulling batteries.

For you 1/15.

Thanks!

As mentioned in other post you better change your device to a new one. Storm is newly released and you can claim warrenty.

Re: How many battery pulls do you do per day? And for what reason?

I pulled it once since I got it 7 days ago and that was on the first day when the camera came on and I couldn't get it to go off. After the update that never happened again. Other then a couple glitches which I haven't had since, I have had no problems in the last 4 days and use it often, knock on wood.

I just posted how my Storm took very long to boot after a battery pull and now is completely dead.

Re: How many battery pulls do you do per day? And for what reason?

Some of us don't need a battery pull.  The phone resets/reboots every time the screen turns off to save battery power.  4 minutes later, its working again until the screen turns off again.  Softwear or hardware issue.  Can a RIM tech comment on this?  No apps are running when this happens.  I hate waiting until December 15 for my next "try".  If its a software issue, I hope the download comes soon.  Verizon tech support is not equipped to deal with this and can't even order replacements.  You have to go to a store to order a replacement.

"The phone resets/reboots every time the screen turns off to save battery power.  4 minutes later, its working again until the screen turns off again. "

Verify that the battery is charging up fully.

º Go to Options

º Go to status and check the battery level when plugged in.

º Exit using the BB menu key.

º Unplug and see if after THREE minutes what the battery level is. It may be discharging rapidly.

If the battery is fine, then I would try the next suggestion....

I would try a factory reset and wipe it to the base system and then see if this is still occuring.

  • Options menu
  • Security Options
  • General Settings
  • Menu
  • Wipe handheld
  • Enter password ("Blackberry" or your business-assigned security password)
  •

If after this, it is still doing the same reboot when "sleeping", it would definitely be a hardware issue within the Storm.
