How to Remove Sim Card (Blackberry Storm)

Hi

Can someone tell me how to remove the sim card from the Blackberry Storm please?  It's my first ever Blackberry and I've only had it for one day :smileyhappy:

The sim card slotted intio the holder easily, but the holder doesnt seem to open up to allow the sim card to be lifted out.

I want to copy my contacts onto the sim from my old phone.

Thanks

Kez

The card slides out - no need to open anything.  It takes some work - I used the back-end of a toothbrush to push the card out - but it does come out.

I just used a pair of tweezers and it slid out really easily. I was surprised at how easy it was actually, because the card looks like it's bolted in there.

I might suggest that using your SIM to move the contacts isn't the best method. If your old phone had any enhanced address book capabilities, you'll lose that extended information in the transfer (SIM contacts are very limited). If your old phone had any ability to hook to a PC and transfer data, then you might be able to use that to move the contact data. See this KB:

KB05459 How to use the Switch Device Wizard to switch from another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

Now, if your pld phone wasn't a SmartPhone but still has a data connection, you should research with that manufacturer if they have anything to let you export from that phone to ASCII or CSV...then you could use the RIM software to import the contact data:

KB11194 How to import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device

IMHO -- the last resort method is the SIM card...other methods should be tried first as they will produce "better" results.

Good luck!
