Hyperlinks stopped working in browser

Yesterday, the hyperlinks stopped working in the Blackberry browser.  That is, when I click on a link, it highlights, but it won't fetch the hyperlinked page.  It won't show a "loading" status at the bottom of the screen either.

The screen click works fine in other applications.  The screen click works fine in the browser when using the menus.  It just won't work when clicking on a hyperlink on a web page.

It was all working ok until I browsed a Facebook mobile webpage.  This is not the Facebook mobile app, but the mobile website viewed using the Blackberry browser.  I have browsed the Facebook mobile site on the Blackberry browser many times, and then hyperlinks stopped working, and no longer works for any website.

I checked the settings, and checked and checked and can't seem to find any solution.

I've cleared all browser cache.

I haven't changed any of the settings on the browser.

I was already running OS v4.7.0.75

Application Memory Free Space: 9.4mb

Device Memory Total Space: 879.2mb

Device Memory Free Space: 853.6mb

Media Card Total Space: 7.3gb

Media Card Free Space: 7.3gb

Anybody have a solution?

Re: Hyperlinks stopped working in browser

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Anytime random strange behaviors creep in, the best thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, this one suffers from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a recurring basis as a preventive measure.

Best!

Re: Hyperlinks stopped working in browser

Ok, did as you say.

That seemed to work!

Looks like it's going to be a love/hate relationship with this thing.

Re: Hyperlinks stopped working in browser

Glad it worked! Give yourself time to get used to it...it took me a few months to get totally comfortable with it. A long time, yes...but worth it IMHO.

Please also mark your thread as solved.

Cheers!
