I am located in Egypt and I have purchased a Storm 2 verizon from a friedn who was coming from the states and it is verizon locked but is working as GSM phone (I did not pay that much for just GSM) my service provider is Etisalat Egypt.

Hope Anyone could guide me the way.

Hello mira637,

Have you already talked to your mobile carrier about activating the BlackBerry with a voice and/or data plan? 

Do you know if the BlackBerry has been unlocked for use with a different carrier? If not, you will need to contact the branded carrier for more information about what is required for usage with a different carrier.

i have already subscribed to the service but they are not able to manually push the services book!!

but the voice subscription is already working .i.e. 3g mobile line

Hello theadampos,

SMS is a voice service that is not unique to BlackBerry. If you are not able to send or receive SMS, you should contact your mobile network carrier for assistance.

Even i have similar problem with my BB 9930 which i brought from ebay (SPRINT BB 9930) and i wanted to use with Du carrier in UAE, i have activated the BB package from the carrier but for reason BIS is getting activated in the device.. i tried my all possibility but was not successful..

I am able to make calls, send and receive sms, BIS works on WIFI only.
