backup device
make sure you have DTM 4.7 or 5.0 installed and closed
plug in BB
click on start- run and type
cmd
press enter, then type
cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
press enter, then type
loader.exe /resettofactory
press enter
wait till you BB reboots adn test it again without restoring your backup, since this is happening with the verizon voicemail program, instalkl that only and test for awhile.

DrizzT09, Hey many, thanks for the advice. You basically solved 60% of my problem. The other 40% was self-inflicted; kinda, what I mean is that the policy.bin solution is crap(maybe because I'm running Vista 64). The factory reset would clear up my phone and then the policy.bin file and the registy change (that the instruction told me to do.) would bring the problem right back. It wasn't until I got rid of those two pieces of trash that my problem went away for good. So anyone going through the same problem that I did, and from searching online there are quite a few, might want to consider what I had to do!

yes i have seen that problem before wehere the policy.bin caused problems
policy.bin was good for removing the it policy in old software
resettofactory is the new improved way... they dont work well togather
glad you got it solved, now restore your data and start enjoying your storm
