My menu key is not working on the phone. If i press the end key on the odd occasion while its in the menu it will bring up a mini menu or side bar which the menu key should do.

Just wondered if anyone has had that problem? or if they know a way to cure it?

Please please any help would be appriciated

Hello,

I think you can try the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data
1) your Blackberry device is on
2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
3) Put the battery back
4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

No that hasnt worked, unfortunately i dont seem to be getting anywhere with the phone other than the end key is bringing up my menu key functions instead everytime its pressed!

do I understand correctly?

• the menu key clicks but does not work at all
• the escape key clicks, but instead of doing "escape" it acts like the Menu key should act.

Strangley enough the button has just started working the phone will now be going back to be replaced. Quite dissapointed really. Not sure whats caused it and nore does anyone else.

My BB/Menu button packed in today. Does anyone know how to fix it? I'm pretty sure it's SW related.

"packed in"...can you clarify? Do you mean it clicks but does nothing? Or does not click at all?

If the former, do a batt-pull reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, this one suffers from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a recurring basis as a preventive measure.

If the latter, then it's a hardware issue...take it in to your point of purchase for warranty evaluation.

I'm interested in this minute thing. Does that really trigger a longer reboot than 10 seconds with the battery out? Not when I tried.

(packed in : not working. No click. No menu. Nothing.)
