Missing Wi-Fi om my Storm2 9520 ??

At work I’m testing the BlackBerry Storm2 9520 and I’m having trouble with Wi-Fi, in that it isn’t there?

First, I’m new to BlackBerry have only used them for 14 days, and the Storm2 for only a weekend.

I have Googled that not all Storm2 phones have Wi-FI, the 9500 and 9530 have not. But 9520 and 9550 have Wi-Fi. I have doubled checked that my phone is a 9520, it says so under “About” in the option menu.

At the same page, lines like:

Smartphone (3G, Wi-Fi)

And

WLAN version: 3.0.1.123

All in all, it should have Wi-Fi but when I go to “Manage Connections” which the Help points to for setting up Wi-Fi, there isn’t anything there?

I think it maybe a firmware problem. I’m from Denmark and at the moment there aren’t any dealers who sales the Storm2, so my Boss got them from Vodafone – Mexico.

My thought is that the Wi-Fi is Disable or in some way not available. Is there any hold in that thought?

And more importantly, how do I get my Wi-Fi to work??

A second problem, the system language is English. I have been able to change the input language to Danish, but I would like to change the system language as well.

But again, I can’t seem to find any updates or Firmware which could change the system language.

Yours,

Poul / DK

Poullb,

I need to know your Operating System loaded to your device.
Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.5.xxx"
What is yours?

Now, also, on your device at Manage Connections, at the top it should say something like "Turn all connections off".

Under that, what is listed?

  -- Mobile Network ?

  -- WiFi ?

  -- Bluetooth ?

Also, on the Options screen, look at something for me.

Scroll to Security > Information.

What is under that Information?

And now I got Wi-Fi :smileyvery-happy:

It was a IT policy on our BES server which disabled the Wi-Fi.

Sorry for the waste of time :smileysad:

hello,

just a precision :

9500 and 9530 are called "BlackBerry Storm" and do not have Wi-Fi

9520 and 9550 are called "BlackBerry Storm 2" and have Wi-Fi

Re: Missing Wi-Fi om my Storm2 9520 ??

Jeg har ikke kunne ændre selve sporget i 9520 til dansk, kun input delen. Dvs. muligheden for at indtaste Æ,Ø,Å.

Det gjorde jeg med at finde et europærisk Firmware, mener det var et fra UK som havde DK som Input sporg.

Translated:

Q: How did you change to danish, is the letters Æ,Ø,Å included?

A:I haven't been albe to change the language in the 9520 to danish, only the input part. Eg. the possibility of using the letters Æ,Ø,Å.

I did this by loading an Europering Firmware, if I remember correctly, then one from the UK got DK as input language.

Re: Mangler Æ Ø Å

Jeg hentede firmware fra Vodafon UK, via dette link:

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do;jsessionid=F197FD4AFB2C57871D8725F1827D5BF2.n...

Selv om den ikke dansk som menu sprog, så indeholder den dansk om Input Language.

Håber det hjælper :smileyhappy:
