My touch screen isn't being responsive.

My phone's screen is being unresponsive. I've updated to the latest software and I've taken the battery out but nothing seems to work. If I take that battery out it's normal for a minute, but then after a few minutes it's back to being unresponsive. If I try to touch a certain icon it will either not respond, or it will open up another icon. I can't scroll through my contacts or messages. When I try to enter in my password it only enters a few characters then it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi and welcome to the forums. Was your screen working ok before you upgraded? If so than what did you upgrade to?

No, I wasn't having this problem before I upgraded. I didn't immediately have the problem when I upgraded. I don't know the exact name of the of the software but I know it has to be latest because I just updated two-three weeks ago.

Ok. Pop up main menu, go to options>about. Third line should say v 4.7.0...... What is that last part?

Re: My touch screen isn't being responsive.

Ok, your os is the correct one. The only thing that makes a screen unresponsive like you have described is a memory drain that I am aware of, other than a defect which is most likely not the case since it worked ok before. Do you have installed any new apps, such as a screen lock program, or a live web oes which is constantly searching for updated news, weather etc.. Also, I know you did this already, but try a battery pull with device off. Leave it out for a minute or so. When it resets, go to options again, then memory. Tell us at the bottom what is the application memory free show. Then when the phone gets sluggish, do it again and see how much of a drain there is. Report back with results.

Re: My touch screen isn't being responsive.

Hi,

I also am having the same problem since upgrading to .148. when it happens it only lets me click the left row of icons. After pulling the battery it returns to normal for a while but fails again soon after. I have also had a problem with it reseting when I'm in camera mode.

Re: My touch screen isn't being responsive.

I was having the same problem and think I solved it simply by opening app world and subsequently closing it.  I think my problems started the last time I was browsing app world...and never officially "closed" the app.  Of course this may be coincidence but since I did this my storm has been working great.  Hope it helps.
