Phantom Emails

Hi.  My Storm always shows two emails even if I delete everything on the phone.  I've removed the battery, restarted, reloaded the software, etc.  Anybody have a clue?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Phantom Emails

Hi and welcome to the forums!

try going into message and view folders look at every folders including browser and Wap Push.

If nothing is there, try changing themes, pulling the battery while the device is on,

let the device take 1-3 minutes to fully reboot, then switch themes back and see if t clears.

Thanks,

Bifocals

One more bullet left,

On the BB go to OPTIONS/SECURITY/FILEWALL/menu key, press reset all counts.

Send about ten emails to your address, lets get that indicator logic gate turning

see if you get in on the next battery pull.

Make my day and tell me it worked.

Thanks,

Bifocals

Re: Phantom Emails

Bifocals,

I figured it out.  I'll give you the make your day kudo anyway.  Turns out there's a "purge deleted items" menu item that's not intuitively obvious.  That did the trick.  Just looking through the folders (including the deleted folder), which were all empty, wasn't good enough.  Thanks for the help though - you got me thinking....

I tried the solution that Bifocals recommended below and it also worked.

try going into message and view folders look at every folders including browser and Wap Push.

If nothing is there, try changing themes, pulling the battery while the device is on,

let the device take 1-3 minutes to fully reboot, then switch themes back and see if t clears.

For what it's worth, I had two offending phantom emails, one in each of two of my six email accounts. I opened one of the offending email folders then simply removed the battery, re-inserted it, and when boot-up was finished the phantom emails had gone from both folders.
