Hi sdgardne, I see your a specialist...any comments on the problem of the storm deleting old calendar entries even with the option set to keep forever? Thanks.
Wow...first time I've been asked specifically to comment! I feel honored!
Sad truth -- I am on BES/MSExchange for calendar, contacts, and primary email...so all of my sync is OTA for those items. It seems that I have all appointments on the BB going back to when I activated for Enterprise. Before that, I have some appointments on the BB, but still have all on my desktop Outlook. So, in my config, I am not exhibiting the symptoms described.
I do have BIS for two other accounts, but those are email only as my entire life is on the one calendar (via BES). I never sync via USB at all.
It indeed sounds odd that items are being deleted on the desktop as well, especially since they are set as Keep Forever. I'm kind of out of ideas and need to defer to my colleagues here who indeed do sync in the same manner as posted...
Sheesh...better take a star away...

Maple3...I too thought it may be a free space memory problem. To assess this I did battery pulls frequently and this did not stop this from occurring. As the sync process showed the BB deleting appointments I feel it did originate on the BB, however I am not sure if it was the sync process that triggered it as I never looked at the BB to determine this prior to attempting a sync (major oversight on my part). I will say that since altering my calendar sync method using Google calendar with its' OTA process I have not had any appointments deleted since March 6th. When I used the BBDM to sync I never kept them that long. This leads me to believe the sync process triggered it but I can't be sure. I'd like to get a fix to this in case I decide to revert back to the DM; however, for now I am finding the Google OTA sync works better AND is more convenient. The drawback is that it only synch my BB 24 weeks in advance.

yes I agree, it is very frustrating that a core piece of functionality doesn't work properly and there appears to be no contribution from Blackberry to help resolve it.
After uninstalling some applications to free up memory some weeks ago, the same issue reoccurred this month. All appointments prior to 1st April were deleted except for recurring appointments. This was proir to running the sync process with Outlook. I had to do a re-sync with Outlook to get them back.

I agree, a very frustrating issue indeed. I have been using a google calender work around since early March and it has been very acceptable workaround. It gives wireless calendar sync capability as a bonus. I too would prefer things work as they should, but this mode of syncing is much easier than using the DM. The drawback is it only syncs 24 weeks ahead max and only keeps past appointments on the BB for 4 weeks. I am no longer losing appointments on my outlook on my PC though. Overall I like this better that having to manually sync via the USB & DM. Please refer to the following thread:
