Re: Ringer off

Well, it's not just you, but it's just you and me as far as I can tell.  ;-)

I did create another, brand new sound profile, and that didn't work either.  Of course, I was unable to "try it" on any ringer selection, but I put the volume up and so on.

A few more things.  When I get a call, the screen responds as it would normally, but I noticed between the button "answer" on the left and "ignore" on the right the middle button displays "ringer off" with an icon of a speaker and a line slashed through it.  Pushing that button does nothing.  Also there is actually some faint static coming from the speaker when it would normally be ringing.  Not sure if Jantoine can match my weirdness note for note.

Re: Ringer off

I don't get static but I do have the ringer off in the center like you. I did a custon profile but work arounds shouldn't be beeded with abrand new phone. It will go back if not corrected, I will call Virizon tomorrow (good luck to me).

Re: Ringer off

Try to do the following.

  1. Remove the battery when device is ON.
  2. What a minute.
  3. Turn the battery back to the device.

Re: Ringer off

I will try that again, but it's already been done and didn't make a difference. This one is strange to me.

Re: Ringer off

If it won't help - wipe the device memory.

1. Make backup of your device data via Blackberry Desktop Manager

2. Go to Options - Security Options - General Settings, open menu and select "Wipe handheld"

Re: Ringer off

Tried the battery removal again and no luck. I did set up a custom profile that works so at least I have a working phone.

Re: Ringer off

In other words - phone ringer does work with another custom profile. Am I right ?

[ Edited ]

No, it is not necessary.

If phone ringer does work with a new sound profile - it is not necessary.

From technical point of view - there is no difference between your created profile and profile that was on the phone when you've bought it.

If you wish - you can wipe device memory, but do not forget to make backup of all your sensitive data, such as contacts, memos, etc.

Re: Ringer off

I had nothing to lose so I wiped it and restored it. Blackberry profiles still do not work but custom profiles do. What do I do next?
