Spiceman, it will definately be more helpful if you could be more specific about "phone is not responding quite well".
When your texting, the screen locks up, while you are typing a SMS, or pressing send, or what?
How long does it lock up?
Can answer these questions?
1) Is this issue consistently reproducible? (like it happens anytime you type a text message?)
2) What do you do to reproduce it?
4) What operating system are you using?
5) Who is your carrier?

Hi,
Just thought I'd let you know I had similar issues to you with the screen being unresponsive. However, I took mine back and got a replacement.
The phone is working fine now. So I would say was a fault with the phone itself. I would recommend to anyone having these issues to take it back and get a replacement.
As i said, it solved my issues. Unless you're REALLY unlucky and get a second faulty handset!
Good luck.

I have had the Storm 2 for a month now and am about to be on my 3rd phone, all because of the problem you have mentioned here. My first phone it was mainly the green phone button. I also had other problems with it (randomly rebooting and getting an error message with speed dials), so I called and they sent me a new one. The second one has a problem with ALL of the bottom keys. They don't work over 50% of the time, and luckily they didn't work when I brought it into the store so they could see the problem. The guy said he thinks there may have been a production run error where there is a disconnect between the bottom keys and the main click screen. My third phone is in the mail. If that is defective, I am getting the Tour. Curve 2 looks cool too, but I need a world phone.
As for the $50 clear shield, I would have Verizon replace it for you on the new phone or give you a credit. I asked them about replacing my case if I needed to switch to the Tour, and the guy said it would be up to the manager, but he would probably do it.
GOOD LUCK!

For the record... same problem here. Any one of the four buttons will temporarily lock up. I try to click and the screen acts as though its locked. I've had my Storm 2 for 30 days. It happens roughly once/day.
It is starting to sound like a more general defect. I don't want to exchange because I bought software and a skin but if it continues, I'll have to swallow it.

Hi, I entered a new Vodafone contract to upgrade my phone and was given a storm 2 which came highly recommended. This was at the end of November. I am now on my 3rd phone which is also mis-behaving but am having trouble getting a different phone from the Vodafone store. I have experienced all of the problems mentioned previously but the most irritating occurs after I have removed the battery to end a call. It then proves impossible to enter my PIN to restart the phone until it is good and ready (around 15 attempts later). Strangely, this latest phone does something that none of the others had thought of. It ends my call after about 15 seconds, whether I have finished speaking or not. Clearly there is a huge problem with the Storm 2 and Blackberry should recall them. This is my first foray into the world of Blackberry and it will certainly be my last.

hey, i had the same problem, but mine was the talk key (green) wouldnt press down .... here is a solution that has worked for me.... take off the battery cover, you will see 2 small screws below were the battery is placed, these screws hold the screen tight to the base of the phone. loosen these screws a bit. this worked great for my storm 2.

Take the screen saver off and it will work fine. This screen does not work well with a cover on it. Tried it twice and the only way to get it to work was to remove the screen cover.
