Setup wizard only allows me to set up Exchange email

Hi:

 

I recently re-activated my old Storm for my wife (her first smartphone). After reactivation, I tried to set up email so she could check her Hotmail, but the setup wizard only shows one option - enterprise email through Exchange. I know when I use to use the Storm myself, I had both Hotmail and a POP email account set up with no problems. Is this a device issue or a carrier issue? I had Bell activate the Storm on a minimal (200MB) BlackBerry data plan and the phone seems to work fine (as a phone, at least!)

Double check with Bell that it is registered on her SIM and her account.

You will get the personal email set icon once that is connected.

 

Sometimes, rebooting helps make the "connection". Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have the phone with me right now. I called Bell and they said to call the tech support line when I have the phone with me. I tried a battery pull when I was trying to set up email last night and it didn't change anything. I will call the tech line tonight and post the outcome of that conversation.

Finally got around to calling Bell. I guess there was something wrong at their end. The phone call fixed all.
