Storm (1) keyboard problems – is it really a hardware issue?

Hello,

I have problems with my Storm keyboard. There are several similar topics already. Basically some keys (actually some areas of the touch) are not working. For example in QWERY keyboard on landscape it is not possible to press letter “s”. On reduced key board pressing “n”, “m” and numbers do not work in 50%. All posts I found a saying that I have to contact my carrier (I did).  My problem is that I am using the device everyday and service answer was that they will either fix it in 4 weeks or give me a new one.

My question is if someone has already response from the carrier? Is this really a hardware problem?

If this is a software issue I can fix myself, but I tried everything, including placing a card on top of the battery, software upgrade/downgrades, battery pull etc.  It looks like a software problem or kind of lost calibration, but it will be really great if I can know the answer without losing my device for four weeks.

 Thanks!

Re: Storm (1) keyboard problems – is it really a hardware issue?

Hello,

I tried the application. Using it is even worse than using a broken device. The application is ridiculous and useless. This forum is for people to help each other, so please retain from spamming with your **bleep** application.

As I explained in my case the problem was pure hardware issue and I got free replacement.

Re: Storm (1) keyboard problems – is it really a hardware issue?

Does the screen just seem like its not bouncing back like it is stuck down. I had the problem where the corners were dead and no bounce. I got a replacement and the same thing happened. Then I went on the almightly GOOGLE and found out that the two screws one the sides (right beside the sim card slot and the memory chip) are for the screen and they were over tightened.

Get a tork 6 screwdriver and adjust those.  it takes some trial and error to get it right you dont want them too tight or the creen doesnt work but you also dont want them too lose or it feels sloppy. 1/2 or 1/4 turns ussually make a large differance.

No screen problems since adjusting.
