this method worked for me. I had tried leaving it plugged in all night the night before with no results. The method above worked perfect.

On Thurs, I was at a client's office all day and the cell reception there is very poor. My phone died from searching for a signal, but I wasn't worried because I had the USB cable with me. Well, I tried connecting it to the computer and it just wouldn't do anything - other than showing the red LED light constant. I was quite worried that something terrible had happened.
I got home really late that night, (3am) and plugged it into the wall charger and saw the white screen with battery indicator Then by the time I had to get up the next moring (7am) everything was ok. It was even already powered up and I have been using it since.
Two things I've noticed about the Storm and battery power
1) if the battery gets too low - the Radio connection will turn off.
2) if the battery dies completely - the USB cable does not have enough power to charge it.

We are having the same issue, sorta. Yesterday and today the screen went completely white with the clock thingy without being touched. Now it is completely dead even tho it was completely charged this morning. I''ve plugged it in to charge and am now I'm getting a white screen with a battery and lightening bolt symbol and a red light. Now it's a white screen with the clock thingy again that is flashing.... My other storm is fine...so far!! LOL
Any suggestions????

Hi,
I bought the new Storm 2 roughly 2 weeks ago and its been working great so far. However, i went to bed last night with everything working perfectly and woke up with the phone off and not responding. I tried taking the battery out and replacing it again and also charging it, however, there is no response from the phone whatsoever. (not even the LED).
Any help would be appreciated??

My suggestion is that any time your storm freezes, gives the white screen or the "blank look" (black screen)
try battery pull.
if you have changed your OS reload it. as long as your app loader recognizes your BB you can send it through the motions. I have had to actually go to another OS, and then back to the one I wanted.
Tricky little devils they are

Hmmm...I have just had the same problem. My Blackberry Storm phone had more than half a battery charge last night and was working fine. I plugged it into my wall charger to charge all night, and when I got up this morning it was off and it will not turn back on. The green light on my wall outlet charger was green so it was getting power and it appeared that it should have been charging all night.
I've tried removing the battery and putting it back in, which did nothing. Nothing happens when I try to turn it on, no red light, no green light, nothing. I guess I'll try and charge it again when I get home, or try turning it on while it's plugged into the charger. Unfortunately I forgot to bring the charger with me to work, so I can't try that right now and I'm stuck all day without a phone. It did do this one other time recently, and I charged it on my husbands dock charger, and I may have plugged it in again to my own wall outlet charger, and at some point it finally came back on. So I'm holding out hope that it will again come on. Fortunately, I do have insurance on it through Verizon.
My husband also has the same Blackberry Storm phone - his first Storm got damaged, he got a second phone which had many problems, some having to do with the camera, locking up, etc., and now he's on his third phone and he's still having some issues, but tso far hey are minor.
We were REALLY excited when we first got the Storm phone. They are also our first Blackberry, and first touch screen phone, first time we've had phones with full internet access, etc. We love them. I really hope we don't continue to have so many problems with them. I've read many forums on different issues, and it seems they are problem-prone. I had read about some of these issues before we bought them, but we weighed our options and decided to go with these anyway, over other Blackberry and other phone options, including the iPhone. Hopefully Verizon will resolve the problem if I can't fix it. They've always been great, they have awesome customer service and are quick to resolve issues, so I don't expect any problems.

HI
Did all this
But it gets to a white background and then it keeps rebooting [small square with moving hand] and then something flashes on the screen and it says below a number or phrase - resetting. Happened last night after it went to a browser - and never was able to come back from this state.
THanks

Same excactly -
Has anyone had a successful solution as I do not think this is battery related - as it did the same last night with the direct wall plug - not just the USB charger... Thanks
