Hello from Canada
Having issues with sync-ing organizer..I get an error message 0x3b21 and BB Desktop freezes. Have re-installed a couple of times but to no avail. I even tried downloading and installing from RIM but had the same problem.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Hey There
PC is admittedly a little lame
Celeron 800, 256 ram, 160 HD...running Win 2000 Pro with Office (Outlook) 2000 Pro
BB Desktop 4.7...downloaded and installed from RIM. No issues with installation noticed on last re-install, but still getting error.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
The problem is that Outlook 2000 is not supported by desktop 4.7.
The last version that supported it was desktop manager 4.2.2.
Use the attached link to perform a clean deinstall of the current software
and then use the other link to download the correct version.
Thanks,

I tried the fix above as I have the same problem (XP SP3, Outlook 2000, 0x3b21 error on desktopmanager 4.7) but still can not get this to work.
After installing 4.2 SP2, the program won't allow me to sync (i.e. - the button to sync is shaded and not selectable within the decktop manager program). My best guess is that there is a problem with my computer connecting with my BB Storm since there is no driver for it on 4.2... This is so frustrating since I switched from windows mobile to BB because of all the problems I had getting my work e-mail synced there. Ugh, part of the problem is my companies reluctance to purchase anything from this century, but still, there has to be a way for this to work!

Hi, and welcome to the forums enderfall!
This will give you the correct driver on XP.
1) Power the PC off and then on so it boots cleanly 2) Plug the USB cable into the BB and into the PC 3) Run Windows Update on the PC 4) Windows should find the correct driver for the BB and install it. 5) Disconnect the BB and reboot. 6) Connect the BB, open My Computer and the media card should be reflected as a removable drive. 7) If you can see the device correctly, then unplug the BB start DM and reconnect the BB and Configure synch.

Cool!
Next time when doing any upgrade of the PC OS, kill all live programs, to prevent errors.
I believe Microsoft recommends this.

Hey Gang
I took the easy way out of these sync troubles...i installed Outlook 07....lol
No more sync or medis manager issues. BB Desktop 4.7 runs and intergrates no prob. My feeble PC will hardly run either program but it works...albeit a bit slow. Sync-ing media is VERY slow depending on file conversion settings.
When I tried version 4.2.0 and v4.2.2 I had the same isses as mentioned above. It still would not sync and Media Manager was greyed out. I figured it would be an issue regardless of version so I "found" MS Office 07. As mentioned you need to cleanly re-boot, kill everything you don't need, install then cleanly reboot.
I find it strange that Office Home & Student does not include Outlook as previous Office versions do. Outlook is now a stand-alone package. Does MS think that home users don't need email anymore? I konw I use Outlook more that PowerPoint...lol
Thanks for the help. It was great to have the forum as BB offered no solutions. All in all I do love my new Storm. It is pretty cool and works with no glitches so far.
