Unable to register wireless network to enable personal e-mails

Hello All,

 

I have the new Blackberry storm, went through the usual process of setting up the phone using the wizard.

 

I have been trying for a week now to set up personal e-mails but when trying to do so it only gives me the Enterprise setup option.

 

I have tried many things that the Blackberry site has suggested but nothing has worked.

 

I have tried to register the wireless network by doing the following:

Clicking Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Register Now

 

It then says "Verify that a confirmation email message has been received on the BlackBerry Storm smartphone."

This has never come through....

 

Wireless still remains unregistered and I still can't get an option for to run personal e-mails...

 

Any feedback or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

 

Your data plan may not be correctly provisioned on your phone.

I take it you can't use the browser either.

Send a PIN message to yourself. If you do not receive it, your data plan is not in place.

 

Call your carrier and have them correctly provision the phone, stay on the line until you

have verified your email works.

Hi,

 

Many thanks for your help.

 

A little red and white clock has come up next to the message.

I think that means it hasn't sent.

 

I'll leave it until the morning and give Vodafone UK a call and see what they can suggest.

 

I will post the result on here for other users to see.

Hello Again,

 

You were 100% right.

My service plan was not the correct one for my Blackberry 9500 Storm.

 

Nobody at Vodafone UK seemed to know what they were talking about when it came to the Blackberry side.

I am now on the correct compatible tarrif and got Vodafone to send me the Blackberry data message while i stayed on the phone. (also had to carry out a soft reset for settings to take place)

 

Looking back the key things were:

  • No blackberry logo in the top right next to the signal bar.
  • Various buttons missing from the menu screen including applications, Vodafone Live etc
  • Unable to send PIN messages (to myself as a test or anyone else)
  • Unable to get the email registry message through after clicking Register Now in the Host Routing Table

Hi ,

 I have a problem of registering with blackberry enterpriser server. My net work provider is aircel they are denying that my blackberry 8830 coulnot avail this facility.  bought it from naptol.com. 

 

Is it possible to sort out this problem??????

blackberry , please help me. i have bb 9900 device , <Personal Content Removed>, and the <Personal Content Removed>on orange RO i cannot activate it . they tell me that the pin doesn't exist

Same problem here...cannot register with the network Vodafone RO my 9810
