Let's eliminate it being a software problem by doing a battery pull. Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.
If the problem persists, it's probably a hardware problem for which you'd have to contact Verizon for resolution.
Please post back with your results.

That didn't work. But I just wonder what could be causing this. It can't be an internal hardware issue because it works fine once the cover is off.
The screen stops clicking once the bottom cover part "clicks" in.
