Please contact your service provider to enable the Browser on your device" or the following one: "It seems that your device does not have a WAP2.0 service book installed

Re: blackberry 9500 connect to internet?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! Otherwise, you should do exactly as the message instructs you to do...contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

If you are on BES, then you get that from your BES admin. If you are not on BES, then you ignore the "Enterprise" email configuration and instead select the "Personal"/"Internet" email configuration. If those are not there and only Enterprise is offered, then the above steps indeed did not work...or you simply aren't subscribed to a proper data plan from your mobile service provider. If that's the case, you need to ring them up for formal assistance.

Another symptom indicating that you aren't subscribed to an adequate data plan from your provider.

It's actually the other way round...the apps don't support the 9500. Every app developed for BBs must be ported to every BB model number and major OS level combination -- that's a lot of porting, and some developers choose a subset that they support. But the question is properly directed at the developer, for it's their responsibility to choose which BB models/OS levels that they will support.

Nope.

Good luck!
