connection with macbook pro

I've upgraded to a BB Storm today and have installed the PocketMac software on my Mac. I then try to connect the BB to my Macbook Pro however it comes up with this message : [01:34:13.208] Unable to connect to BlackBerry (error 1); skipping.

I've looked on the website and it just recommends installing a newer version which you can download. I've done this but its still saying the same message. Read there are some probs connecting with the new Macbooks but mine is over a year old now.

Any ideas anyone??

Re: connection with macbook pro

I think us Mac users are second rate citizens. For sync, I am using 'The Missing Sync' by Mark/Space inc.

Problem is this software is not able to load apps.

Come on RIM, help us Mac users.

Re: connection with macbook pro

I have a mac book pro and just purchased the new blackberry storm 9500. I have downloaded the pocketmac version 1.2 (1.4) from blackberry site and when I try to sync it to my phone - with the blackberry plugged in via the usb I get this message:[09:00:46.864] Unable to connect to BlackBerry (error 1); skipping.

Re: connection with macbook pro

Sorry, should have posted sooner. I've solved the problem I had with connecting to my mac, maybe its the same prob you're having. You have to enable 'mass storage mode support' and format the media card if you got one. You do this in the options folder on the bb and then its under 'memory'.

Hope this helps!

Re: connection with macbook pro

Did you add an additional card beyond the 8gig card provided?

I did the changes and it did not seem to work. Could you provide your memory settings for each button in the BB?

Has anyone successfully done this? i know missing sync works but at the same time $40 is kinda crazy when i only wanna transfer my address book

also does anyone know if you can do it via bluetooth? i know i can send my address book to my mac but can i recieve it?

Re: connection with macbook pro

I am not sure if you all have office 2008, however, I had the same error.  When I opened Entourage, all the contacts were in the contacts tab.  Just try clicking on it and it should be there even with the error.

Re: connection with macbook pro

Does anyone know if it is possible to sync the blackberry storm with bluetooth on a macbook pro? I have tried quite  few times and it just won't connect?

Thannks for the tips above, I will try all these now. Since my last post I have purchased the missing sync and it seems to be working but I have an error message and need to sort out some settings in my ical and address book, which I must admit is a bit of a mess, with some entries not having names etc, just random numbers, apparently blackberry won't sync if there are inconsistencies like this -moody little machine!

The tip I got on here to get a music file via bluetooth has been great, I can now at least have my own ring tone! - go to receive via bluetooth under music folder under media ( the 2nd to left button on phone which brings up options)
