I found out what the MMS problem is...
I am unable to send MMS messages when the picture is saved from a website or an email. When I go to send such images it shows up as 1 color depending (i guess) on the prominent color in the picture...
Ie a picture downloaded from the web of a sunset, would show up as just a picture of the color orange or red...
Interestingly enough I don't experience this problem when sending a picture actually taken from the phone...
...curious...

Hey, I just got a BB Strom and it lags so much.. Going by this thread, i came to know that i am not alone with this problem. I have companyAnyways, i'm using V 4.7.0.78. I have tried doing everything with V 4.7.0.99 & V 4.7.0.103. Nothing works! The OS just doesn't get updated. I have restated the computer and everything that is possibly written on this thread. I have done it all but still it doesn't show me anything about a new upgrade... I have even used the loader.exe file in that particular folder. But still no respite. Please can you put a complete list of things in detail as in how to go about it. It would be of awesome help. I am losing hope on my Storm.. It is a very cute phone but i just don't wanna get embarrassed with time. Thanks a Ton... Regards.
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Who is your carrier? If they are still on .78, then there is no official help for you from them...and they may refuse support to you if they find out that you've moved beyond. If they are beyond .78, then use their official update methods.
There are excellent instructions for using leaked versions here:
Good luck and let us know!

Hey,
Firstly, Thanks for writing in..
On your link that you posted, I have already done those steps three times already. My only problem is that my BB desktop manager doesn't show me a newer update. It is just stuck on my .78 version. I even tried the files loader.exe as suggested in that link but for now success at all.. Please help! Secondly, i am from India and i am using Vodafone. Should i ask the customer service people on this? I am so tired with the slow nature of this phone, that i am even ready to throw it out of the window.. SERIOUSLY! Please help as i can see other people getting some respite with the updates.. I badly desperately or whatever u call it... I need Help... Please...

If .78 is installed to your PC, then you should uninstall it first (from the PC). Then install the device OS version you want. Then run DTM and it should use that device OS version. If it seems to be not working, then a complete start over might be in order using the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
5) Install DTM to your PC
6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
7) Start over with the attempt at updating your device OS via DTM
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!
