I'm having the same problem and get the same error message. I bought the Storm 2 the day it became available. I hope there is a fix for this soon.

I wonder if re-registering your host routing tables again would help.
Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table
Press BB button > click "Register Now"
See here for info on Host Routing Table

FYI Re-Registering Phone, Sending Service books does not help.
Any other suggestions?

Spent 3 hours today, with Verizon tech [3 different ones]. They could not fix it. Said it had to be my phone. Now I see it's not. They said Blackberry was not awhere of the problem

The previous version of Blackberry Maps isn't compatable with 5.0. At least not with ...328.

I'm using the version that was loaded with the 328 OS?

I've got 2 new Storm2's and neither one has a functional BB Maps. all we get is a yellow screen with black lines and a red stickpin in the middle. spent an hour on the phone with tech support and they were unable to get it working.
Got the problem fixed. RIM tech sent me an "ipd" file that needs to be loaded onto the phone via the Desktop Manager "restore" function. BB maps is working fine now.

Is there any way that you could send that .ipd file my way? I talked to a tech for a while and he said nothing of this .ipd file.
