A feature which my Nokia N70 has is that upcoming events are displayed on the phone, so that you see them every time you use the phone. It has a small display but it tells you about the next 2 events in week. This is great for "Birthday Reminders".
I have only had the Storm for a few days but it does not seem to have this option and I am not sure how I will be reminded of an upcoming events. I have a feeling that it will be a little POPUP which will happen once and then it is upto me to remember. NOT GOOD enought.
I want to see these events every time I pick up my phone. At the moment half of my screen is wasted with the "Vodafone" logo where it should be used for such information.....
Thanks
Andrew

I totally agree on this as well, one of the missing features this is!
I had my BB Storm since saturday and although I'm still happy with it I really hope RIM will bring out sw updates real quick. I've encountered too many bugs already.

This type of functionality is typically available in Themes that have the word Today in the title.
Most will display both a specific number of unread messages, and a specific number of upcoming appointments and events. I don't care to see unread messages on my Home screen, but do like seeing my Calendar. I was lucky enough to find an "L" theme that displays only 3 Calendar items for my Bold and love it. I found it here:

There are OTA Installation links on the page, and several variations to the thems presented.

Looks like this Theme may do it but:
1) It as shame you have to install a complete theme to-do something so basic
2) From my Vodafone Storm I am unable to download any extra themes at the moment via the "Theme download option", since no themes available from Vodafone/blackberry!
3) A bit nervous of downloading and trying to install a 3rd part theme at this time shame.
