You need to dig to find out VZW's frequency range, so as to ensure that it matches the capabilities of the device (CDMA 800 / 1900, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO).
You need to check with VZW to see if they will even allow it to operate on their network...they own their network and have every right to say what devices they will allow.
You need to check with VZW to see if their network natively supports the 9670 -- if not, then you may well be limited to Voice-level only services (e.g., voice and SMS, but no BBM, no web, no email, etc.). Getting a BB running fully on a carrier network that does not natively support that BB model is tricky indeed.
All in all, I'd start with those and, depending on the answers you receive, you may or may not wish to proceed.
