I still can't get past the user name/password prompt thru the mail account settings on my bb since it won't accept any user name and/or password combo I enter. 

 

Yes. I did try to start from the very first place I started previously. 

 

mobile.blackberry.com  - communicate - email - gmail* - integrate now - launch email set up (button)

 

But when I click on the button, it puts me right back in the same place where I can edit or delete my existing 3 mail accounts, or "add an email account (e.g., yahoo, google, or create new address)" but the latter won't accept my email address/email password prompts (it shows that its requesting, then returns me right back to the same place).  

 

* though I clicked on gmail, it didn't do anything unique to gmail from then on.

 

I appreciate your assistance through all this!

mobile.blackberry.com redirects to http://m.blackberry.com/ca/en/index.html, and there's no "communicate" link. It looks like its not available in Canada.

Ok, then try www.blackberry.com/integrate

 

That should take you to your mail setup screen.

FYI - I went down to my local verizon store and they were able to reset my password so I can now access my existing mail accounts on my blackberry.  I also got them to enable my gmail account via a special verizon/blackberry website that the verizon guy had access to, which was different from the site I was previously referred to.  Bottom line: all is well now as I have my new gmail account set up on my blackberry and I can edit, delete or validate all from my blackberry.  This is a good post, that should help others who also experience this.  Thanks!

I;m having the same problem, though a year later. You sound like you know what you are doing so I'll run this by you.

 

Following your suggestion:

'• Go to mobile.blackberry.com
• Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
• Choose the appropriate email set up options."

 

I don't find Communication as an option .

the website might have changed since your original post.

 

any suggestions?

still don't see Integrate

 

at the top level I am offered:

- Devices

- BBM

- Apps

- Software

- Support

- Business

 

clicking through these options, I do not find "Integrate"

 

Now, maybe I should clarify my situation. This is a loaner BB device that I am trying to use on an alternate network (after an Unlock) here. I do not have a specific BB account (Is that called BIS?). But should I not be able to use this BB simply via wifi (which is working.)

Oooppss, never mind. full url spelled out got me to the Email setup page.
I'll report on how it goes from here.

OK, finally I get the message:

 

"Cannot creat account. Your Blackberry Internet Service Account is suspended or deactivated. Please contact.... [original phone company]"

 

should I not be able to use a BB for email via wifi only?

 

what can or should one do to use email on BB if you change the service provider?
