No. Legacy BBs require subscription to an adequate data plan from a carrier in order to enable BB proprietary services, including email, even if those services are used only via WiFi. Legacy BB's do not have a full email client on them...rather, they depend on the BIS service, hosted at the carriers and BB, to enable email functionality. Hence, the need to subscribe to the proper service plan.

The message is clear...and overrides all else. You must contact the various service providers (yours, the original) and convince them to unbind your BB device from any other BIS systems so that your current carrier can create a BIS account for your device on their system.

I am going to try Logicmail.

that appears to be allow me to setup email without BIS.
