So I have had my BB Style for almost one year. I have not had a problem with it until recently. Without downloading any new apps, i was all of a sudden needing to charge my phone at least twicea day. Furthermore BBM stopped working along with most of my apps. Lastly I was not receiving any emails on my phone either (recently received all of them yesterday from several days ago). 

Does this tend to ahppen when the battery needs to be replaced? I did rebot my phone and noticed my battery was running on the warm side.

any advice would be appreciated,

It sounds like to me just some data issue or network communication issue in which your data apps couldn't connect to the network, they keep trying and trying and therefore drain the battery (and the quick discharge makes the device warm with all the use).
