It now appears that your phone is not even being recognized by BlackBerry Desktop Software. Here's how to force the detection of it:

I think once you get your phone to be recognized by BDS, you'll be able to move forward. If you use my method and nothing gets recognized, my advice is the same as Krypto's: Keep trying. I've owned phones which required 3-4 attempts to get recognized, so don't give up until you get connected to BDS.
I hope that helps you. ![]()

No, think Ive confused the matter, it is recognised (pin is returned), but it wont connect to the java virtual manager or the blackberry desktop as its in permanent reboot mode
Im unable to stop this as I think as I have to input password, I dont catch it in time (despite about a million attempts)
Kelleygray had exactly the same issue with me and spoke to rim, who advised "Have to go through service provider. They will try to repair. If they cannot, you will be sent a new handset (if within the first year)."
So think I'll have to pop back to the shop with my unwell phone tomorrow
Much sadness

does that warranty count if the phone is unlocked? and what is the contact number?

Your carrier probably will not honor warranty work on an unlocked phone. ![]()
