hi,im currently in afghan and i had a torch sent out to me so i can use bbm out here,however the camera is not working,i updated it to the latest softwere on my computer last night,done a hard reset,pulled the battery out and still not working,in face detection mode the screen goes striped with coulors,in all other modes it stays blank,i have head of a program u can download to run a dignostic check but i have a mac and they dont have one for a mac ive been told,any help people would be great,its a little hard to call up for help or send it off whilst im here lol

Use your phone to format the sd card (make sure you backup your stuff before)

FORMAT THE SD AND RESTART PHONE...I FORGOT THAT PART...

well i formated the card and re started the phone and still no joy,the screen is still either black or on face detection it is got coloured lines on it,in video mode it records sound and the flash comes on but thats it,is it fuc@ed ?

No one had the same problem? It surely is not the camera module 'cause I purchased a new one and replaced it without any luck

This is not a solution, but helps to get the camera functional:
1. Push the dots/BB button. Set Autofocus to "Single Shot".
2. Go to Scene Modes, some people recommend selecting "Face Detection", but I find "Auto" also works well.
3. Under Options - Select Select Picture Review to "Off".
My Torch (9800) now at least have a functional camera with reasonable pictures, as long as I hold the camera steady for taking pics.

Unfortunately, nothing changed even after this procedure. I wonder if it is an hardware problem...
