Need some help.
My 9810 running 7.1.1149 (v188.8.131.522, platforn 184.108.40.2066) on UK O2 constantly resets the wallpaper to "Mellow.png".
No matter how many times I change the picture, eventually (within hours), it will reset to this default paper.
I thought it might the micro SD card (where I store my other pictures), so I set it to "Arch.png" - from the Wallpaper folder, incidentally, where "Mellow" picture is stored as well.
Again, within hours it had reset to Mellow.
I have performed several battery-pulls, waited 30 mins, then restarted.
Still no luck.
Is it a fault with the OS, or what?
Can you all help me please?
Thanks in advance,

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry® smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.
Here is how to backup your BlackBerry smartphone http://bbry.lv/oPVWXc
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.
Once completed test it and proceed with a selective restore, here is how to restore http://bbry.lv/qgQxLo

Thanks for this SmoothRider.
What is required for a "selective restore"? I understand the concept, but what aspects are required to restore selectively?

I would look at only restoring your most important information, for me it would be the Address Book and Calendar. What you choose to restore is totally up to you.
Hope this helps.

Well I performed an OS re-install last night, and so far (10hr later), all seems to be fine - this is the longest the phone has gone without reverting to the default wallpaper.
Think it's solved, although I'll update in the next day or so.
Thanks for your help.

Did this solve your wallpaper reset problem?
I have a Bold 9900, which resets back to the default rhythm.png at random times.
So far I've tried the following ;
Restored the firmware (from the internet) to 7.1 using desktop manager. This seemed to fix it for a day or so, then the problem crept back and happens at least once per day
Tried other "standard/bundled" wallpaper. Just in case there was something wrong with the corporate WP that I was trying to use (which BTW is a very simple logo, in 640x480)
Disabled all the panels apart from ''all'' (had a feeling this was causing the problem, and I dont want or need them. No difference.
I have NO other apps than the bundled ones, XE currrency, British Airways, and Facebook. I'll try deleteing these too but I think its just a buggy OS.
The only thing I can resort to now is hacking into the OS folder to change the Rhythm.PNG file and replace it with mine, or downgrading to 7.0 if this would help. Is there a way to get to these file? Couldnt seem to get at them from Windows Exporer or Desktop Manager. Is there a backdoor into the wallpaper folder?
I got the phone with 7.1. I didn't want it, but company policy forces me to use a BB now Think its worth a try sticking the older version on there? I'm getting REALLY bored with resetting the wallpaper - and considering I was using an Iphone 4S before, with some fantastic apps like Skype and Google translate for free, I'm starting to really hate this phone now.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me to resist throwing this very expensive and unreliable object into the river !!!!
