9860 starts then freezes at home screen

I was attempting to change my picture on Whatsapp when my phone froze. I pulled the battery 3 times and it just starts then freezes at the home screen

Re: 9860 starts then freezes at home screen

Hello Cyanna19 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your device.

Are you able to boot your device in Safe Mode as shown in  KB17877?

If so, once the boot completes, delete WhatsApp from your device then reboot in normal mode.

Reinstall WhatsApp and let us know the home screen freezes when you attempt to change your photo.

Re: 9860 starts then freezes at home screen

Thanks a lot for your reply.

WhatsApp is definitely the problem. I booted in Safe Mode and uninstalled WhatsApp, restarted the phone and it worked great. I reinstalled WhatsApp and it started freezing again. I did the whole uninstall/install process twice again to make sure that WhatsApp is the problem and indeed it is.

I love WhatsApp though, what do I do now?

You will need to contact WhatsApp support to further investigate as we are unable to comment on 3rd party apps.

You can contact their support team at blackberry-support@whatsapp.com

Thanks!
