Automatic Pairing fails on VW Premium Bluetooth

I have VW Premium Phone Preparation in my 2010 vehicle and have had previoulsy had it paired with a HTC Tourch Pro and it worked perfectly.

I have now changed my phone to a BB Torch 9800 and are experiencing some teething problems with the BB and the VW car kit.

I have had the two units paired and working but when I leave the vehicle and then return, I have to stop the bluetooth services on the BB and then restart them before the phone will successfully pair with the VW car kit.

The software version on the phone is 6.0.0.246

Re: Automatic Pairing fails on VW Premium Bluetooth

I have resolved this problem myself.

In device properties for the paired bluetooth device there is an option for titled "Trusted".

This was defaulted to "Prompt" and this needs changing to Yes.

Save the settings and this now works perfectly.

Re: Automatic Pairing fails on VW Premium Bluetooth

I've already done this -and it still only works intermittently. I'm now being asked to pay c £350 for an upgraded phone kit for the car. The car is a May 2009 GT and has the full sat nav / built in phone bluetooth kit. Does anyone know what I am being asked to pay for - or has anyone had this done and has it solved the problem? It's alot of money to shelve out for a system that currently works some of the time but not all of the time. My local VW dealer couldn't even show me what the upgraded system would look like - so I'm not entirely happy with them either. They don't seem to understand the issue - and I wonder if I'm being asked to pay for something just as an easy way out? It works fine with an i-phone and a nokia - but not a BB Torch.. ... confused or wot!

Re: Automatic Pairing fails on VW Premium Bluetooth

Not sure if this will help, I had problems syncing with a Curve 9300 but my colleagues worked fine on my Passat CC (2009) mine would work only intermittently. I solved the problem by copying one contact (any contact) from my BB contacts to the sim card and the phone hooked up fine. I have since tried it with the Torch 9800 I had upgraded from again copying only a single contact to the sim card and this now works fine. There does seem to be a potential problem if you have the WIFI o the BB activated, for some reason this seems to inhibit the bluetooth connection, if this happens the best thing is to disconnect the WIFI, remove the battery and do a system reboot, then all should be fine. VW are no help in this either so it is trial and error, my system is the original 2009 Passat CC premium. the only other thing is that when you sync the BB do not click on the message that refers to returning to the BB messaging system. You can use the phone and receive text messages but no mail while hooked up to the car.
