BBM missing resource files

after a recent upgrade my BBM icon label changed to net.rim.bb and when i click it to send a BBM I get a screen saying:  Uncaught Exception Missing resource files.  How do I repair this?  I am running OS 6.0 Bundle 2647.

Thanks for any help.

Re: BBM missing resource files

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend you remove and reinstall BBM:

  • KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on the BlackBerry smartphone

To re-install, please see this KB:

  • KB17625 How to install or transfer previously purchased applications from BlackBerry App World to a BlackBerry smartphone

Failing that, you'd likely be looking at much more drastic measures -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, etc.

Cheers!
