just got back from the vodafone store.

Tried a new SIM still no joy.

 

so now i have a brand new Bold 9900 instead

my original SIM and the new SIM both work perfect in it.

seems it was a software fault with the 9860 and since they dont offer the Torch 9860 anymore they relaced it with a Bold

what did you say to vodafone as when i called they went through everything and still no joy, i think i will have to go to vodafone store tomorrow

Just go in to store explain that you have tried everything they told you to try and hopefully they will replace it

If you go in to your blackberry go to options, Device, advanced, and check the host routing tables, if this is blank then you have same problem as me

No ammount of software updates or battery pulls or factory resets will fix it the device will need replacing

truth is i have the same issue. surprisingly though, i had some entries in there but now no more.

I have gone through a few sites and it seems this BBID/BBM setup issue is perculiar to 9860 Torch.

I will like to see BB do something about it.

i have been having sleepless nights on this issue for over two months now.

i can't return my phone because i ordered it online so the seller claims he can only replace if it were to be hardware issue.

every other thing works well on the phone except BBM.

 

what is BB without BBM?

yes.

It works on my old bold2 which is available to test with.

everything works well but not on my new 9860 torch.

the service providers here can't even say a thing about the issue.

may be I should try with another SIM. I'll do that tomorrow and post the feedback.

Also, please ask MTN Nigeria if they show your PIN as blocked or suspended in the system AND ask them to ESCALATE the issue to BlackBerry tier two technical support for the further help on this issue.
