BLACKBERRY TORCH IM ISSUE

I recently changed my Blackberry phone from BB 9000 to BB Torch 9800. Since the change over some of my contacts are no longer receiving my IM text messages. They contacted their carrier and I contacted my carrier, still having a problem. HELP!!!

are you talking of BBm messages or SMS messages?
besides, are they able to send messages to you?

The problem is with my  SMS messages and yes I am receiving their messages.

when they send you an SMS, are you able to reply to it? do they receive it?

Yes, I am receiving their messages, they aren't receiving my SMS. And this is only applying to a few people on my contact list. It's weird!

If I were you, I would go to the address book and delete those contacts entirely.
then try to send SMS to them :
- a new SMS
- a reply to an SMS they have sent you

and confirm that it works.

then go on one of thir SMS and do "add as new contact" and try again.

then fill the contact data and try again.

Made some progress, we found out the problem was on their end with receiving text messages. They are both with the same  Carriers, however they are able to receive photo text messages....very weird.

MMS and SMS do not go through the same channel. SMS goes through voice and MMS goes through data. I suggest you go to the options of your device and find the Host Routing table, and inthe menu choose to have it resent to you.

Then try again.

If it does not work, you're good to contact your carrier hotline and explain that MMS work but not SMS.

The problem has been solved, I contacted my carrier again and informed them I could send MMS text messages and explained the process. The second time around deleting the contacts and re-entering them seemed to work after several tries.

 

I'm glad to finally get that issue solved.
