There appears to be a bug in the software 7.1 and from a quick web-search this may not be limited just to 7.1 but is an issue with some Torch Models.
There appears to be a software bug that is not allowing voice interfacing programs, i.e. Shazam, Google Voice search, etc. to work properly in that they are not able to properly grab the microphone input.
If one does a Blackberry Voice Search though, then the other programs, i.e. Shazam, Google, etc. will start working IF and ONLY IF they were open when the voice search was done. If you close them, you need to do a new voice search.
Really really annoying I must say.
Can someone from RIM verify they have seen this.

those apps might need a tweak for this latest OS version
