Battery problems

I am charging my phone until it is fully charged but as soon as I start to use internet or other apps the battery drops to 8-10% and then stops immidiately. Sometimes when i restart the phone battery % increases but only for 5 minutes. I had the same problem before and I don't know how it was fixed but this time i tried all possible solution but it is not working. Anyone knows what should i do ?

Re: Battery problems

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):

  1. With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
  2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
  3. Remove the battery
  4. Wait 15 minutes
  5. Insert the battery
  6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does

This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:

  1. Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
  2. Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens

The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Battery problems

I tried this one but still i`m having problems. At first I thought it was ok because the battery lasted longer . However as soon as i did a restart the battery went down to 10 % . Also when i'm using flashlight the battery is getting weaker. So still i have problems with the battery

Re: Battery problems

Well, sadly, from your report, I cannot tell anything new. You see, you said "this one", but there are two tests up there...not just one. So I cannot tell, from your report, what you actually attempted.

For example, if all you did was the 4h15m process and it did not help, then you move on to the 2nd half -- the battery swap test.

Good luck!

Re: Battery problems

I tried both, the 4h15m process and the battery swap test but none of them solved my problem

Re: Battery problems

Well, your economy with words continues to leave me with no ability to understand. I can understand the 4h15m process resulting in a not solved situation, but the specifics of the battery swap test results could help to indicate where the problem actually lies.

For example, if your battery worked fine in another device, but your BB did not work with that other known-good battery, then we can deduce the problem to be something related to your specific BB and not your battery. But, if your battery did not work in the other device, then the problem could be your battery.

Sadly, from the few words you give us in response to the details we provide you, we cannot know exactly what happened with that...and, not knowing those answers prevents us from providing you any further guidance. Details from you will help greatly.

Thanks and let us know.

Re: Battery problems

Sorry for my bad English. When I used my battery with another device it worked fine, so i think that the problem is not the battery but the phone. However I could not find a known-good battery to try it on my device.

Re: Battery problems

Then we do not have a complete test result, and consequently any guesses we make are less accurate. If you are correct, and the problem is your device, then the problem is hardware -- which is impossible to fully diagnose at an internet-distance, and also impossible to fix with any OS/software level remedies. Only a qualified technician, with the device in their hands, can give you a proper evaluation and estimate.

If you remain in warranty, I recommend you seek support under those terms. If you have no warranty, then I recommend you seek a local (to you) shop with a qualified BB hardware technician.

Good luck!
