There is no way to install OS 7 On 9800. Even the hardware is supported, where you will find OS 7 for 9800????

Hello,

Please refer to post 24 above. IF it is available (and I do not know IF it is) then it will be via that official portal. You will have to spend the time digging through all carrier portals to find a) those carriers that support that model and then b) what OS level they currently support.

Good luck!

You can try, but it will fail. ALL BB OS packages can be used only on the specific model number for which the OS package was created. If the OS package says (wihtin it's filename) 9800, then it can only be used on a 9800. Likewise for 9810...only OS packages that state, as part of their filename, that they are for the 9810 can be used on a 9810. Likewise for ALL other BB model numbers.

Good luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Sorry, but I don't quite understand your issue...RIM does provide updated OS's for free, but the carriers are first in line from RIM, and are responsible for certifying and releasing to their end users, and still for free (though, with the right tricks, any OS package from any carrier can be used on any BB of the same model number). But, as with all things, EOL comes into play...I don't know if the 9800 is in that world yet, but it also may be too limited for the requirements of OS7. This is all quite normal in the technology world...nothing lasts forever, and the hardware limitations of a device will forever constrain it.

Perhaps I don't understand what has you so upset about this issue?

Thanks and let us know!
