Re: BlackBerry OS7 Update for Torch 9800?

My own problem is this,I don't understand why curve9360 has an upgrade to os7 while touch9800 don't have.this is injustice,curve9360 has 512 storage of RAM and 512 memory of ROM,while touch9800 has 512 memory of ROM,512 memory of RAM and inbuilt 4GB...now can someone out there tell me this is not injustice.

Re: BlackBerry OS7 Update for Torch 9800?

9900 has 1200 mhz CPU

9860 has 1200 mhz CPU

9810 has 1200 mhz CPU

9790 has 1000 mhz CPU

9360 has 800 mhz CPU

9310 has 800 mhz CPU

All above run OS 7, see the trend?

9800 has 624 mhz CPU which is not fast enough to run 7

Moderators are here to moderate, not to engage in questions like this.

RIM said older devices will not get OS7. Deal with it. it is not going to happen. no petition is going to get it as the 9800 can not run OS 7 with its limited CPU.

more info here

Want OS 7 bad enough? Upgrade to a device that supports it.

There is nothing left to discuss on this matter. Case closed.

Re: BlackBerry OS7 Update for Torch 9800?

I wonder y u'd bought 9800 instead of 9810 in dis period of time bcoz af far af I know there is no new ver of 9800 devices, (OS7 I mean) unlike 9810, built specifically for OS7. Beside d price is juz 10-15% higher than 9800. I sure u know that most of old devices can't support new OS technology, dis include android, as far as I know only iphone do hv upgrade for their older devices, but still there's some application dat can't supported d newer OS. BB10 is juz around d corner, y don't u wait 4 dat devices or if u do really wanted OS7, buy 9810 (torch range). There's even hv an upgrade to OS7.1 which is much superb. But for me I'll wait for those BB10 devices.

Thanx.

Re: BlackBerry OS7 Update for Torch 9800?

Have u thick all option boxes in HTML email option(In d email preferences) (got 3 boxes, Enable HTML email, download email automatically & Confirm external image dload)? I'm using 9800 & works well. This setting should works. Or is it u mean u need to click "get image" (tap n hold on d email to view email image)? If yes then this is different issue. This actually d security setting for our BB devices that prevent our ip add frm broadcast.
