Blackberry 9860 - Voice calling issues

Hi... I recently purchased a Blackberry Torch 9860 and my voice calls was working perfectly. For the past 2 days, I have been unable to hear anything on the phone. By this I mean, that whenever I place a call or someone calls me, the call connects but neither of us can hear the other. I don't know what happened and I'm trying to fix it but just can't seem to identify what the problem is. Can someone please help me!!!!!

Enable the What is the BlackBerry Device Analyzer   on your device and test the microphone and speaker.

 

Alternatively, you can use this tool: Using the Self Test application on the BlackBerry smartphone

I am assuming this BB Device Analizer is under Option's,but I can't find it.

On the 9850/60, go to Options > Device > Advanced Options.

Press the Menu key > Show Keyboard

Press the symbol key (&%123) and type ??5*  (the equilivalent of BBDA)

 

You will see a message "BlackBerry Device Analyzer is enabled", and you will see it listed last in the Advanced options screen you are on.

I found it and did the test. The volume is too low on speaker. I reported that,saved and emailed. Is there someway other than volume key on side of device (which is at max) too turn up speakerphone? I just did a test call to vzw update and it is plenty loud, but most calls on speaker phone I can barely hear?

Hi JSanders. Thank you for your suggestion. I tired it and it did confirm that I have issues with my phone. So I decided to go to my Mobile Connections option where I switched off all connections then restored. I did this about 3-4 times and guess what? My service was restored! **strange** Anyhoo, I'm gonna run the analyzer again to see if my device passes this time. I'm sure it would  but I'm gonna run it anyhow.

This is different than the original poster here.

Is it your call volume that's too low?

What about volume when playing a song or a video?

Volume on UTube or Pandora are fine. Its more telephone calls made or received that are just a little too low. Now the VZW *228 is loud enough.

IN the phone Options (press the dial button at lower left > menu key > options > IN call settings)

Look at the Volume Control setting. I keep it at "previous" so each call is set at the previous call settings (which I keep turned up all the way).
