Sorry to interject again and I don't really doubt you, but in my proposed scenario, "new" and "known good" are not necessarily the same thing. While rare, a new battery certainly can be defective.
But, if the other battery was indeed "known good", and if that test resulted in narrowing down the problem to your BB itself (in that the other BB, with your battery, ran fine and your BB, with that other known good battery, continued the same behavior), then you likely need more drastic remedy attempts. Here are some:
