Blackberry Torch 9800 - Phone rings when set to vibrate only

My Torch 9800 has recently started to ring when set to vibrate only - which setting I prefer in business meetings.  A reboot by battery removal makes no difference.  Is this a known glitch and what is the fix please? On 'Silent' setting my phone behaves as it should.

Re: Blackberry Torch 9800 - Phone rings when set to vibrate only

Hello davidMPMA

Welcome to the forums.

In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry® smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.

Here is how to backup your BlackBerry smartphone http://bbry.lv/oPVWXc

Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.

Once completed test it and proceed with a selective restore, here is how to restore http://bbry.lv/qgQxLo

Thank you

Re: Blackberry Torch 9800 - Phone rings when set to vibrate only

I followed all of the recommended Backup, Re-install and Restore procedures but the fault still remains.  What did happen was that the process 'hung' at some point in the Restore phase and I had to disconnect the phone from the computer, remove the battery to force a reboot, then carry out a separate Restore operation.  Surely the fault should not have been 'carried back' in the Restore process.
