Okay, I was installing Fandango and once it was done downloading the phone shuts off to reboot and the screen turns on and the bar at the bottom showing the loading progress was going fine and everything and then it gets to about 3/4 to being done, then it shuts off and starts over and it does the same thing over and over; gets to 3/4 shuts off. I tried pulling the battery and it didn't make a difference. So I tried pulling out the battery and just leaving it sit for awhile, still nothing. Tried charging it, Still nothing. So I tried connecting it to the computer to reset it and restore the OS but it won't connect. I bought it in January, but I didn't get like other Warranty... It should still be under the Manufactures warranty though...

Are you able to restart your device in safe mode as shown in KB17877?
I assume, since it's caught in a reboot cycle, when you connect to the Desktop Software it doesn't take a stable connection to reinstall your software?
If that is case, remove your battery and keep it out when you connect to the Desktop Software. You will get a pop up that the device can't connect and there should be Retry, Update and Cancel buttons. Select Update and you will then be able to reinstall the current device software version.
When the load is progressing, you will see a step that says "Wait for device initialization". At this point, insert the battery and the reload should complete.

I am having a different sort of reboot issue with my curve where it only loads to about 2/3 and stops each time I do the battery pull. When I connect the device to the computer I am presented with the pop up screen you described. But when I select Update and then Repair on the next screen, it checks for updates forever.
Is there another way I cando the update or something else I can try?

I had the following problem :my blackerry didnt wanted to boot up and it couldnt initialize , the red light was only blinking for like 3 seconds and I even couldnt see the letter blackberry with the white bar anymore.
The worst thing was that I couldnt find any solution on the internet.
But somehow I found the solution by luck.
This is what you need : blackberry desktop software (newest version), blackberry usb cable . AND THE BLACKBERRY DEVICE SOFTWARE so that it doenst have to download anymore.
This is what you have 2 do: Leave the battery in your bb so that it keeps trying to boot up , until the battery TOTALLY runs out and has no power anymore , I left my blackberry for a whole day so that I was sure that it was completly out.
When your sure about it , run blackberry desktop software , and DONT CONNECT YOUR BB , once you runned bb desktop software , and its completely loaded , connect your bb .
The first thing that you'll see is that its trying to boot up again.
When bb desktop recognize it , it did on my mac , it says that it couldnt connect with the device , after that click on repair.
In this time your bb is still trying to boot up and then you'll see the battery bar with a charge sign.
Then bb desktop is loading the os etc.
Then , when initializing your device , it says : your device is taking longer to respond than expected.
In 1 min your device should initialize , then follow the steps on bb desktop and this is my tip , so dont disconnect it till its finished etc. sometimes in the proces your bb will hang but it will continue after a while.
At the end bb desktop asks u to restore from a backup , I recommend u to cancel this .
Bcuz there is a chance that it will restore the wrong things so its starting to do the same thing again like b4.

hello , please i need help , blackberry 9860 wont load even after wiping and reloading OS, its just gets stuck on the blackberry loading screen.Spent days trying to fix this, please help.
