Re: Blackberry app world isn't working.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

Please try a hard reset: With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

In addition, you can try this sequence:

1) Remove AppWorld from your BB

  • KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
  • If it requests that you reboot the BB, do so

2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot (power on, remove battery, wait, insert battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.

3) Install (on your BB) a fresh copy of AppWorld

4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot

5) See if it now works.

Cheers!

Hello...thanks for getting back to me...and thank you as well for those additional details...for there was no way for me to otherwise know them. Consequently, your resolution steps will be completely different from what I earlier provided...apologies for having earlier given you that redundant advice.

I find no specific KBs with that exact message...many are close, though, so you should do a search and see if perhaps any apply:

However, most that I find all discuss this being caused by BES...are you on corporate/BES? If so, then you need to work with your BES admins for resolution.

If you are not on BES, then did you buy your BB brand new? Or was it perhaps used? It is possible that it was once associated with a BES environment, but was never properly cleansed of the IT Policy that would be causing this problem. You can check via this:

  • KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone

If there indeed is an IT Policy and you are not presently on BES, then there is a very specific task you must do in order to cleanse it...to prepare, please review the link in my auto-sig on this post regarding backups. You will need a complete and clean backup of your BB in order to proceed (if this is the cause).

Otherwise, you would need to talk to your mobile service provider for formal support...they are 100% responsible for delivery of ALL services to you, as well as ALL formal support, including escalation into BlackBerry if necessary.

Good luck and let us know!
