Blackberry torch 9800 slider broken

Just yesterday my blackberrys screen began to start playing up. At first the touch screen would only work when the slider was in the up position and the screen would only update whenever the slider was not pulled out. However whenever i pull the slider down the screen goes black or pauses and will not update until the keyboard is hidden again. I know that the system is still working since the functions of the phone are still running only they aren't being shown on the screen. Unfortunately after rebooting and going back to factory settings the screen is no longer working in any slider position and remains black. I was wondering is there a quick fix that I can do myself for this?

Thanks

What you've already done are the "quick fixes".

You can always try wiping with BBSAK and reloading the OS.

You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F
For BBSAK, here is the link: http://bbsak.org/

Re: Blackberry torch 9800 slider broken

Hi,

Thanks for getting back so quickly! Unfortunately i tried your steps nd the screen is still unable to work, i am assuming that it is a hardware fault instead of a software one. Are you familiar with what may cause such problems from a hardware point of view?

Thanks

Very likely. I don't know the cause.
