Bluetooth connection issue

I have a Clarion MAX685BT deck in my car. It has hands free bluetooth. I have had 3 other Blackberry phones work just fine on this deck until now. 2 of the phones were BB curve and the other was a Pearl. Like I said they connected and worked fine.

So I have upgraded to the Torch and the BT connection is now a hit miss. The Torch NEVER connects automaticlly and I have to mess around with the phone and the deck to make them connect everytime I get in my car.

My first thought was something was up with my Torch's Bluetooth, so I paired it up with my Jawbone. The Jawbone connects automaticlly each and everytime it powers up. So this tells me my Torch's Bluetooth works fine.

So any idea what the issue might be?

Torch is running OS 6.0.0.246

Re: Bluetooth connection issue

I would try deleteing the paring on the torch and pull battery on device while it is on.

Replace battery then after it powers backup, pair it up again and be mindful about saving the profile so it will auto connect.

let us know how you progress.

Re: Bluetooth connection issue

OK, I deleted the device and did a battery pull. I Went back out and paired them again and got connection again. But after turning the car off and restarting it again it doesn't auto connect. I then go and highlight the device in my BB and click connect. I get connection failed but when I go back into the menu "Connect" is not there. If I hit the BB in the device list on the MAX685 the phone gives me the message "connection terminated."

I then select the MAX685BT from the BB device list and I hit connect and viola, they connect properly again.

Not sure what is going on but hands free bluetooth is a major need.

I see 6.0.0.284 is released. Does anyone know what issues 284 deals with? Why doesn't RIM report on fixes wih their releases?

Why doesn't RIM report on fixes wih their releases? RIM releases the fixes to the carrier, it is up to the carrier to release that info to the people.
