Bluetooth device name

In the Bluetooth Options I can change the device name

If I make a new connection with my car (Peugeot) this name is shown for the connection.

But if I look into the addressbook there is an other name for my phone.

With the same SIM but an other Blackberry the Bluetooth device name is displayed.

Is there an other Option?

Re: Bluetooth device name

Hello guenther_p and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

To clarify, you changed your device name in your Bluetooth® settings but when you check this pairing in your vehicle's phone book, the name is different?

If you put another SIM in your device does the Bluetooth name change?

Thanks!

Re: Bluetooth device name

I change the device name in the Bluetooth® settings in my own blackberry but in the vehicle's phone book, the name is different?

If I put the same SIM in another Blackberry (not the same type) the device name is displayed in the vehicle's phone book. Changing the device name leads to a change in the vehicle's phone book.

I have found another curiosity. There is a dialog named SIM-Card where I can store a number and a name. The special entry in the vehicle's phone book disappears when I delete the number and name. The name stored in this dialog is different to the name of the device and the name in the car.

Re: Bluetooth device name

Is your vehicle set to read the SIM card phone book or the device phone book?

If you put another SIM in your BlackBerry, does the Bluetooth name change?

Re: Bluetooth device name

Backup your data and reset your Bluetooth database as shown in http://bbry.lv/buj0rQ

Delete the saved pairing from your vehicle.

Repair both the device and car and check the phone book once more.

Re: Bluetooth device name

To clarify - the data base is greyed out and you are unable to clear it?

Is your device active on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server? If so, do you have an IT Policy on your device?
