Dear all,

Since I have updated my Toch 9860, I have some trouble with option "Data services" in mobile network menu.

When I selec "Off", I can continu to receive email on my device and before this update, everything was fine.

I tired to Wipe my device and start from 0, but same issues (I thinking during wipe, my OS version will be return to original but It still keep in 7.1.0.2061)

FYI, I work with BES express enterprise.

That's a new feature of OS 7.1, you can now receive data with Data Services switched off.  Doesn't make much sense to me but that's the way it is.

Mmm.. ok but in this way, how can I cut incoming/outgoing email when I want ?

TO press "Off" data service was the best soltution for me, now, how can I do ?

and again, I have tested with :

- Wireless "Off"

- Data services : "off"

And I continue to receive email ?!

What's the logic in this ?

Could be a parameter in my BES server ?

As I said earlier, before in 7.0.19xx everything was fine.

Yes I rode Bills answer but It's not a solution for me, even if this is new "improvement" I need to swith off data service so how can I do this now with this new version of OS ?Best practice to be sure sure Data is off and just able to receive phone call ? Or can I downgrade to previous OS version ? (I try to wipe but BB keep actual OS version...)

This is the best feature the new OS 7.1 brings to the table. Specially if you are at places where they provide free wi-fi. This an economic way to avoid conflicts with certain providers who may have customers disputing chargers over their network since you don't have to turn you data service "on" to get data service. Me, personally, I love it since I prefer to "go green" and emails are the most important messages in my BB Torch.

P.S. RIM has a support center at twitter. Give it a try and follow it. Is going to help you tremendously.

BTW, I consider that this OS won't work for me with this update.

So I try to conturn this new limitation but each time It's not working.

ex : I configured eail preference and uncheck "send email to this handheid" but It stil continu to receive email ??

So my question in fact : how can i trun of automatic pushing email on this device ? I regret my previous OS 7.0.0.296...
