Cannot connect to wi-fi with WPA

Hi,

I have a Blackberry 9800 with a T Mobile contract and it will not connect to my home wifi network when WPA is applied.  when the network is left open it connects no problem, but I just get an eror message that states "Failed to associate with network" WPS is not in use.

I have tried deleting the profile and starting again, rebooting the device by removing the batterys, and trying to manually connect, but the same result occurs every time -  "Failed to assocaite with network"

Am on OS 6 Bundle 1165 which I think is the latest software?

Any ideas

Thanks

Phil

Re: Cannot connect to wi-fi with WPA

Hi,

Thanks for the link to the other thread - I've tried a few things around QOS but no joy - I'm on a linksysWAG54G2 modem router and the settings aren't directly compatible, so...anyone else out there experienced this issue and solved it?

Thanks

Re: Cannot connect to wi-fi with WPA

Some WiFi routers do not support WPA2 AES-CCMP just AES, see if yours supports it.

Some routers only supply 5 ghz for N type networks and the Torch will not connect to those unless you turn off N or change it so that N uses only the 2.4 ghz frequency that the Torch will work on.

Since it is also like a VPN connection to RIM services, some routers can only handle one VPN connection or just a few connections to any VPN. My home router will only allow me one connection and I have to turn off my wifi on Torch to connect to VPN at work.

have you also tried a router firmware update?
